Quinta do Gradil red wine is produced with Tannat and Touriga Nacional grapes, with approximately 30% of the blend aged for 9 months in French and American oak barrels. On the palate, it reveals deep aromas, such as notes of smoke, blackberries, and wild berries. The characteristics of Touriga Nacional blend well with the tannins of Tannat, making the wine rich and smooth, fresh, and with a peppery finish.
Quinta do Gradil has been referenced in the history of Portuguese wines since 1492. However, it was only in the 17th century that vineyards and wine became part of the property's economic activity. But it was in the 19th century that one of the most decisive moments occurred, when Dona Maria do Carmo Romeiro da Fonseca inherited Quinta do Gradil from her father, transforming it into a leading agricultural business, focusing on wine production. Many years have passed and Quinta do Gradil continues to be a Portuguese benchmark in the world, now led by Luís Vieira.
