Description

It is a full-bodied and concentrated wine, made from the best Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca grapes from Quinta do Noval. Provides layers of delicious ripe fruit while remaining uniquely aromatic and delicate. Very prolonged and elegant finish.

Intense and concentrated, with a fine structure of tannins, it is distinguished by its delicacy, a characteristic of the Quinta do Noval style. It is the product of a strict selection among the best batches produced by our property in a given year. This wine is delicious when young, but also matures well in the cellar. An authentic wine from the Douro Valley.

HARVEST CHARACTERISTICS 2015
The winter was cold and dry. The spring was very hot, with five heat waves and heavy rains that compensated for the lack of water in the soil. This allowed a good development of the vine and the grape. The summer was very hot and dry. The vines withstood the weather well and, at the end of August, the harvest was exceptionally beautiful. The harvest started on the 2nd of September with our most mature red parcels. The weather was magnificent, hot and sunny. Then came the rain on the 15th and 16th of September. 40% of the harvest was already done by this time. As the weather forecast was favourable, we suspended the harvest for a week, starting again on the 24th, with the grapes in a very healthy state and with excellent weather until the 4th of October.

TEST RESULTS
It is a full-bodied and concentrated wine, made from the best Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca grapes from Quinta do Noval. Provides layers of delicious ripe fruit while remaining uniquely aromatic and delicate. Very prolonged and elegant finish.

VINIFICATION
This wine is fermented in stainless steel vats with temperature control. All grapes are destemmed and undergo malolactic fermentation. There is also a ten-day post-fermentation maceration.
