Descrição
98 pts Jamie Goode - Purple/Black, it is incredibly pure and concentrated with good depth. The palate is intense beyond belief with very sweet blackberries and on the nose you will find cassis, chocolate, licorice and spice. The tannins are sweet, the wine fills your mouth on entry and the finish is long. Although young, this port is ready to drink and will remain so for the next twenty years.
Vinification:
Vintage Ports are only declared in great years (3 or 4 years in a decade) and only when the wines meet Noval's exacting standards. All the grapes come from the Quinta do Noval vineyard. The grapes are trodden by foot to obtain the must and then, during fermentation, they are macerated to obtain the best possible extraction in the lagares, the Quinta's traditional stone vats. Aged for 18 months in wooden vats of various capacities.
