Description

Quinta do Sanguinhal Grande Escolha was produced with the Castelão, Touriga Nacional, and Aragonez grape varieties. This wine aged for 36 months in French oak barrels and presents a deep garnet color. The elegant aroma reveals ripe black fruits, combined with balsamic and spice notes, with a slight touch of tobacco. The firm tannins and the excellent balance between fruit, wood, and acidity give this wine great gastronomic potential.

The Sanguinhal Agricultural Company was founded in the 1920s by Abel Pereira da Fonseca in the Bombarral region. At that time, Abel Pereira da Fonseca owned the largest network of retail establishments in the country, and he used his position to create the company, dedicated solely to the production and sale of wines.

The Companhia Agrícola do Sanguinhal comprises three estates: Quinta do Sanguinhal, Quinta das Cerejeiras, and Quinta de São Francisco, located in the Lisbon Wine Region, more specifically in the Óbidos Demarcated Region. Here, the properties benefit from a microclimate provided by the Serra de Montejunto mountain range and the Atlantic Ocean, which gives the still wines, fortified wines, and brandies a fresh and balanced profile, revealing their unique characteristics.
