TEST NOTES:
The Vesuvius Chapel has schist powder aromas with notes of Rosmaninho and Esteva that especially evokes well the Vesuvio Central Valley, where one of the component vineyards of this lot - the school came. It is compact and bulky with granulum and spicy tannins and a powerful and tense structure. It has great intensity and freshness and a long end of the mouth with notes of tea and tobacco.

Vinification:
The name of the Vesuvius Chapel is inspired by the beautiful chapel of the property and the homonymous confining vineyard. The vineyard of the chapel was one of the first to be replanted after the Filoxera Prague in the late nineteenth century and only four terraces of this original portion subsist. The vineyard of the chapel - the first component of this lot - is made up of caste mixing vineyards with about 100 years, which have been successively straight with original courts to preserve their unique characteristics. The second component is the vineyard of the school, at the base of the central valley, at a protected point and water accumulation, caught by escaped slopes that provide desirable shadow in the torrid summer months. The third component comes from the half -century Touriga Franca plantations in the Teja Valley. With well developed roots, which will seek water in the depths of the soils, these vineyards are well-adapted to heat and dry conditions in Quinta do Vesuvio.
