Quinta dos Carvalhais White Harvest
Description
Aroma: Subtle aroma typical of the Encruzado grape variety: mineral notes, white fruits such as melon and pear, floral nuances and a vegetal touch that gives freshness.
Taste: A fresh, balanced, delicate and harmonious wine, in which the vibrant acidity and hints of French oak combine very well, resulting in a long and elegant finish.
Color: Bright citrine yellow.

Quinta dos Carvalhais Encruzado is a varietal white wine from the Dão region of exceptional quality, a prime example of the elegance and richness of the Encruzado grape variety. Heir to ancient knowledge, Quinta dos Carvalhais combines experience with innovation to create very elegant wines with intensely delicate flavors and a unique personality. The Encruzado grapes arrived at the winery in 20 kg boxes, being unloaded directly into the pneumatic press. After pressing the whole grapes, the must underwent static decantation at low temperature for 24 hours. It was then transferred to a stainless steel tank where fermentation began. Midway through fermentation, the wine was transferred to new French oak barrels, where it fermented at temperatures not exceeding 19ºC for approximately 20 days. Part of the wine fermented and aged for about 6 months in 225L new French oak barrels from five different cooperages. During this period, the wine underwent frequent stirring of the fine lees to increase its fullness on the palate and add wood aromas to the primary aromas. The remaining portion fermented and aged in a stainless steel tank, contributing to a greater balance in the final blend between the wine and its aromatic components.
