This wine is a tribute from the great-grandchildren of Commander Delfim Ferreira, a figure of present inspiration and deserving of continued homage. Made by his great-grandchildren with special care from the grape colheita to the winemaking process, it uses a blend of traditional Douro grape varieties, predominantly Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela, and Bastardo. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels followed by 18 months in the bottle, this red wine demonstrates concentration and complexity.
Winemaking:
The grapes are hand-selected, destemmed, and foot-trodden in granite lagares where alcoholic fermentation takes place. Malolactic fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging in barrels. This wine blend is created through the meticulous selection of the best barrels. Aging and bottling: 12 months in new French oak barrels. 18 months of bottle aging.
