Description
A red wine of great character and expression, with immense aromatic complexity and rusticity, showing aromas of red fruits and herbaceous hints on a charming nose. On the palate, it reveals itself as rustic, with firm but delicate tannins, showing some elegance and finishing vibrant and persistent.
Winemaking:
To vinify Tinto Cão into a single-varietal wine, we conducted several experiments, from traditional foot treading in stone lagares to small stainless steel vats. Our conclusion: tradition prevails! Fermentation in stone lagares with traditional foot treading allows us to explore the classic side of Tinto Cão through a gentler yet more consistent extraction. After fermentation, the wine ages in French oak barrels (15% new).
