Intense tawny red color with brick-red nuances, typical of this aged yet youthful style of wine, anticipates the elegant and complex aroma, combining ripe fruit, jam and dried fruit, with notes of vanilla and raisins. On the palate, the Sandeman 10 Year Old Tawny Port is a very flavorful, full-bodied and appealing wine, with a persistent finish.

Winemaking:
Sandeman Porto Tawny 10 Years is produced using the traditional Port wine method. The hand-harvested grapes are destemmed and crushed before fermentation, at a controlled temperature, with skin maceration to extract the best components. The addition of wine alcohol at the ideal moment establishes the balance between the body and bouquet of the wine. This moment is chosen by the winemaker following rigorous control of fermentation temperatures and densities, the latter depending on the grape variety, the stage of maturation, and the desired final sweetness. After the harvest, the wines remain in the Douro until the following spring, when they are transported to Vila Nova de Gaia and enter Sandeman's centuries-old cellars for aging in oak casks, as required by the traditional Port wine aging system. Over the years, the wines selected for this Sandeman Porto Tawny 10 Years are carefully tasted and analyzed, racked on the lees, and all corrections deemed necessary by the tasters are made. The final blend results from a selection of wines aged between 9 and 12 years, crafted in a way that maintains the consistency and character of this Sandeman 10 Year Old Tawny Port.
