Light ruby color. The Fernão Pires blends well with the aromas of the Trincadeira grape variety, giving it notes of red fruits, with strawberry and blackberries. It presents itself as balanced, smooth, strong and at the same time buttery.
Winemaking:
The white grapes were pressed in lagares (traditional stone troughs) and the resulting must was bottled immediately after crushing in old French oak barrels, filling them no more than 80% of their total capacity, where spontaneous fermentation began. The red grapes were destemmed using troughs and fermented with skin contact in a wooden vat for 9 days, with manual treading using a wooden roller at least twice a day. At the end of both fermentations, the unpressed red must (20%), with skins, was bottled directly into the barrel that already contained the now-white wine (80% of the vessel), in order to complete its filling and finish the fermentations together, obtaining the final wine.
