Quinta do Vallado – Prima differs from classic Moscatel wines in that it is dry. This wine comes from two vineyards: 50% from an old Moscatel vineyard over 30 years old and 50% from a vineyard planted in the mid-1990s. A technique called skin maceration (pre-fermentation contact of the skins with the liquid) was used in the vinification process. The grapes were vinified using the open vat system. Fermentation lasted about 1 month with a controlled temperature between 14º and 16º C. The wine aged for 3 months in stainless steel tanks.
Exam notes:
Very subtle aromas with floral notes of roses and peppermint. On the palate it is delicate, with a predominance of floral flavors and a fresh finish.
