Vieira De Sousa Vintage 2016

It is a wine concentrated in color, opaque, a deep purple. On the nose, one senses red fruits, ripe fruit, and a light floral touch. On the palate, it is complex, deep, and velvety, with dense and sharp tannins, yet well integrated, enveloped in a mantle of succulent red fruit.

Winemaking

The various grape varieties reached an optimal level of ripeness, without losing their freshness on the palate. The grapes were colheita manually at the Água Alta vineyard and subsequently transported in small boxes. After selection upon arrival at the winery, the grapes were destemmed and alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel vats, remaining in contact with the skins for several days. At the right moment, grape brandy was added, perfectly blending with the must to produce this Vintage Port.
