Vilarissa Valley Grande Reserva
Descrição

The bouquet is an explosion of aromas, presenting delicate floral notes that clash with intense, dark red fruits, such as dried plums and very ripe dark berries. Spicy vanilla and coconut notes result from aging in two types of oak (French and American). The palate is a multidimensional journey: overwhelmingly smooth, an awakening of the senses. Ready to be enjoyed now, but promising an incredible future.

WINEMAKING
2020 was a dry year with mild temperatures, little or no rainfall, low humidity levels, and, unlike previous years, no irregular or extreme weather events affecting production (such as heavy and sudden rains, hailstorms, extreme heat, sunburn, and vine dehydration), especially during the flowering phase. Vine disease pressure was very low, with no notable downy mildew outbreaks, which in turn led to less intervention in the vineyard. Veraison occurred in mid-July, with the vineyards showing remarkable vitality, a clear sign of increased productivity.
The harvest began in late August with warm days and cooler nights, allowing for even ripening and good acidity.

After careful selection in the vineyard, the grapes were transported to the winery in small 20kg wicker baskets and then transferred to cold storage chambers, where they were chilled to prevent premature fermentation. Crushing and destemming were followed by a long period of maceration and fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine aged in French and American oak barrels for 12 months before bottling.
