Winemaking:
The grapes were hand-picked and selected from the highest areas of the Quinta do Sairrão vineyard upon arrival at the estate. They were then gently crushed along with the stems in a pneumatic press, separating the liquid from the first pressings. This was followed by a long cold settling, and then alcoholic fermentation, induced by selected yeasts at controlled temperatures between 12ºC and 16ºC. During the period between alcoholic fermentation and the final blending, the wines that make up Vinha Grande Rosé underwent numerous tastings and a meticulous selection process. The final blend was bottled after clarification and aged in the bottle before being released to the market.
Exam notes:
It has a pale hue with light pink touches. With an intense bouquet, the elegance of red fruits such as strawberry, raspberry, and cherry prevails, along with floral notes of orange blossom, as well as slight notes of tropical fruits such as pineapple and lychee. On the palate, it presents excellent acidity, also exhibiting an elegant structure and a marked presence of red fruits. It has a long and elegant finish.
Storage and serving tips:
The full quality of this wine is revealed 12 months after the harvest. The bottle should be kept horizontally in a cool, dry place at a temperature between 12ºC and 15ºC, away from light. This wine does not require decanting and should be opened some time before serving to allow it to breathe and develop its full potential. It should be served chilled between 8ºC and 10ºC.
