Cardo Farm Reserve Tinto

Quinta do Cardo, located in the Beira Interior region, sub-region of Castelo Rodrigo, is a property situated in the vicinity of that village. Its vineyards are cultivated at an average altitude of 750 meters, and are protected by the mountains of Marofa and Castelo Rodrigo, surrounded by the rivers Douro, Coa and Águeda. With a total area of 180 hectares, of which 69 are dedicated to the cultivation of vineyards, all of which are certified as organic production, the other hectares are home to an extensive reserve of cork trees and spontaneous forest./p>

The first vines were planted in 1932, and over the years, the quality of the wines of Quinta do Cardo has been constantly recognized. In 2001, Companhia das Quintas acquired the property and maintained the undeniable quality of white wines, as well as demonstrating the region's potential to produce quality red wines. Featuring an unusual style in Portugal, the Quinta do Cardo red wines are characterized by balsamic notes, great freshness and complexity.
