Description
It is Quinta da Lagoalva's top-of-the-range red wine, known for its intense garnet color, complexity, and aging potential.
The grapes are harvested manually in small crates, arriving at the winery in the morning to preserve their quality. After a 3-day pre-fermentation maceration, alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at 26°C. Malolactic fermentation and 14 months of aging occur in French oak barrels (new and second-year).
Exam Notes
Lagoalva Dona Isabel Juliana Tinto presents an intense garnet color. The aroma is complex and elegant, with notes of ripe black fruits, compote, hints of spices (anise, licorice) and vanilla, with hints of oak. On the palate, it is full and juicy, with firm and elegant tannins and a well-integrated, bright acidity. It is a powerful wine with a long and persistent finish.
